Mom's Guru, Amma

Yes, mom has a guru.
She is an amazing woman from India named Amma.

These are my favorite photos of Amma feeding her elephants.
She has two, a boy elephant named Ram
& a girl elephant named Lakshmi.
This one is Lakshmi.

Lakshmi on the left, Ram on the right.

Lakshmi all decked out.

They are very well cared for and Amma loves them very much!

Amma is known as the "hugging saint" & has received many awards for her humanitarian & disaster relief programs. If you're interested in learning more, her website is at www.Amma.org

As Amma says,
Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu:
May all the Beings in the Universe be Healthy and Happy!
And that includes Us!

REVISED POST: New Visitors Map & Anipal Events Calendar

I love my new visitors map. A little pink heart appears wherever my visitors are from. If you're on the page, your heart will pulse, along with any others who happen to be looking at my blog at the same time you are. Sometimes there are 5 or 6 all pulsing at once, which is super cool.
=^..^=

I've also attempted to create a calendar of Anipal Events so that I can keep track of all the goings-on in the Twitter Anipal world. It's hard to keep track sometimes, so this will help me & hopefully some of you. If you know of something that should be on the calendar, let me know and I'll try to get it up right away.

I tried a Google map but a lot of people couldn't view it. If there is better blog calendar, let me know and I'll use that. Meanwhile, I'll just list the Anipal Events on the right column of my blog.

Thank you again for visiting my ethereal abode.
You are very welcome here and I appreciate your electrical impulses
And your little pink hearts!

Love,
Cokie the Cat

HIM

This is mom's boyfriend. We've all lived together since my Gotcha Day in.. I think about 1995 or so. I guess he's my dad. I just call him Him. He's ok. He feeds me and pets me and talks to me and gives me rides around the house like I'm Superman while he hums Flight of the Valkyries.

He works in the movie business on a film crew but he also makes music. Lots and lots of music and I like it. Our living room looks like a music store. We have a piano and a keyboard and a lot of different kinds of guitars and a bass and a ukulele and a mandolin and an accordian and a djembe and bongos and um...an Indian flute and a violin. He plugs them all into the computer and makes very nice music.

I sit under the computer and listen and purr and sometimes fall asleep and dream about Russian castles or New York cops or being in love... You can listen too at MichaelZamboni.com. Let me know what you think. He's hoping to get some of his music placed in films or to do some film scores.

Hollywood Insider

Greetings and welcome to my blog.

My name is Cokie. You may know me from Twitter.com/CokietheCat, where I can often be found hanging out with my online anipals.

I'm a '94 model long-hair flame point Siamese male cat, sans huevos. Who needs 'em!?

I am an apartment cat. I live indoors, save occasional forays onto the patio; thus my nom de plume, Cokie the Cat ~ Hollywood Insider.

I live in Hollywood, California,
a few blocks from the Chinese Theatre and the Walk of Fame. Palm trees grow outside my window and sometimes the wind blows palm fronds onto my patio, at which point they belong to me. My dining room window overlooks Hollywood Boulevard, which is generally rather entertaining.

I share my relatively trendy locale with my Mom,
HIM, and my girl cat, Wynnie. Wynnie is a lovely (I hate to admit) lynx point Siamese several years my junior. I think she's a little lacking in the intelligence department, but she's sweet and cozy and snuggly and keeps me company.

I am not ashamed to admit that I have incontinence issues
due to nerve damage - the result of falling out of an 80' palm tree. It was a RAD ride down, though! And I continue to be a hunka hunka burnin' love.

My mom loves me to pieces and we have learned to make this little setback manageable by the use of denim doggy diapers. I prefer to call them pants.

Yes, I wear pants - and I wear them well. Three years now. I hope to be an inspiration to incontinent cats everywhere. Incontinent cats unite!!
