Walking in L.A.

Mom's been trying to get some exercise herself lately, but her bum knee's made it so she's supposed to walk on flat surfaces as much as possible; not hike up Runyan Canyon which our apartment is literally at the foot of and would be more soul satisfying that walking down Hollywood Boulevard. But we live where we live and her knee's what it is, so while for some people, this is where you go on vacation, for Mom, it's where she walks for exercise - half the time. On alternate days, she walks west to Laurel Canyon.

At the end of this video, if you were to keep walking straight ahead for three blocks, you'd be at my apartment. I'm trying to get the hundreds of tour buses that drive past every day to add me to their spiel, so we'd hear them saying, '...and on your right, on the second floor where you see the Lakers banner, is the window of Cokie the Cat: Hollywood Insider...' MOL.

Be sure to check out Pepi Smart Dog's SmartDogBlog in this hop today. I'm featured! Thanks, Peps! ; )

If you like my blog, please be so kind as to follow me on Google Friend Connect and on my Facebook fan page - both in the right sidebar.

Thanks! And have a good weekend!

Hope for Paws: Desert Rosie's Forever Home Update!

Hi and thanks for visiting my blog! Two weeks ago I began posting Hope for Paws videos as my Saturday Pet Blogger Hop posts. Please stop by each week to watch and share these amazing videos of Eldad and Audrey Hagar's EXTREME animal rescues.

You should either turn off the music on my stereo, up top, or turn off the sound on this video, so they don't clash!

Today I have two videos to share. You may have seen the rescue video of Desert Rosie, who'd been living in the California desert for over a month, and was finally rescued after a smart woman put up a flyer near where she'd seen the dog, and a man put a map to that location on Craigslist, which was forwarded to Eldad at Hopeforpaws.org, and the rest is history... After a lot of patience on Eldad's part trying to actually rescue the dog once he found her. She had a good set of legs on her. Fortunately, so does Eldad. ; )

The second video is, "Ta-da!" Desert Rosie's new forever home and doggy boyfriend. The happy ending! Enjoy...

Hope for Paws' new edition of "Our Lives Have Gone To The Dogs" - a truly beautiful hardcover coffee table book - is still available here for only $15 including US shipping. If you don't have one yet, go on and get yours. You'll love it. And they make great gifts and Pawpawty prizes!

Thank you for your support of this two person EXTREME animal rescue organization, Hope for Paws.
If you're visiting my blog for the first time, please look around, sign my TV guest book and leave me a comment as to how you found me! I'll do the same for you.

Happy Saturday!

Hope For Paws - Recap

Thank you for visiting my blog for the Saturday Pet Blogger Hop. Last week I began posting Hope for Paws videos as my Saturday Pet Blogger Hop posts . Please stop by each week to watch and share these amazing videos of Eldad and Audrey Hagar's EXTREME animal rescues.

This video is a Recap of many rescues, small clips of each. If you want to see the entire video of a particular animal, click on their image, and a new window will open with that video. Click your back arrow to return to this original video and watch it from the beginning again.

I suggest you watch it all the way through first, then go back to watch individual rescues, if you like.

Hope for Paws' new edition of "Our Lives Have Gone To The Dogs" - a truly beautiful hardcover coffee table book - is still available here for only $15 including US shipping. They're great to get for your veterinarian's, doctors', and hospital waiting rooms, for libraries, etc., to encourage animal adoption.

You should either turn off the music on my stereo, up top, or turn off the sound on this video, so they don't clash!

Nala, the dog featured in last week's video, is still available for adoption and waiting for her forever family.

If this is your first visit to my blog, please leave a comment and sign my TV guestbook. =^..^=

Warmly,
Cokie

Anipal Photo Hunt #6: Adopt a Less Adoptable Pet Week Challenge

BlogPaws' Be The Change For Pets is asking everyone to post a 'less-adoptable' pet on their blog during the week of Sept 19-25, so that's the Anipal Photo Hunt blog hop theme this week.

UPDATE: BOOMER HAS BEEN ADOPTED!
My 'less adoptable' pet is Boomer, a five year old, 11 pound, neutered male black tabby domestic longhair cat who looks like Alice in Wonderland's Cheshire Cat.  : )
Boomer has been in a Los Angeles City Animal Shelter since July 27, 2010. Please help me find him a forever home before it's too late!
UPDATE: BOOMER HAS BEEN ADOPTED!
I'll even pay the adoption fee if someone can guarantee him a good home and lots of love, but can't afford the fee - references required. (Email CokietheCat at gmail.com.)

Please forward a link to this post to all of your social networks and pet people. If you or someone you know adopts Boomer, please let me know!

This week's Saturday Pet Blog Hop is a belated Christmas in July post!

Liss, from Purs n' Snorts organized a Christmas in July gift exchange in June. Da Cat Street Boyz and I were the last to join the exchange, so we got each other, and I'm glad we did! I LOVED my early Christmas! Mom's been really busy this summer and only just now got around to uploading the pics, so with no further ado, may I present: Christmas in July!!

#lakewithpetie

A bunch of us are going to a lake in Canada for Labor Day weekend to hang with our friend @petiethecat. There's lots of room if you want to join us! That's @Kittehboi fishing in the lake and @pandafur cuddling with Petie. Kittehboi made this lovely pic. Go to http://kittehboi.blogspot.com/2010/09/lakewithpetie.html to see how many anipals there are now, and let him know if you want to go, too!

ANIPAL PHOTO HUNT! Revised Instructions

Inspired by Blog Carnivals, Wordless Wednesdays, The Saturday Pet Blog Hop and The Saturday PhotoHunt, which encourage us to blog more frequently, get to know one another better, make new friends, and increase our followers, I’m taking a stab at creating The Anipal Photo Hunt

I tried to set it up like the Saturday PhotoHunt, but that didn't work out so well for me. Instead, I've gone with the Linky Blog Hop plan...

Join the Anipal Photo Hunt in 3 easy steps:
(It looks more complicated than it is. It really is easy!)

1. Each Sunday I’ll post the theme for that week’s Anipal Photo Hunt on my blog at http://www.cokiethecat.com.

2. You (anipals) post a photo featuring YOU on your own blog, along with the subject: ANIPAL PHOTO HUNT: (and that week’s theme). They can be new photos, old photos, Photoshopped photos… as long as they’re your photos.

3. Come back to my website and click the "Click here to enter" link at the bottom of that week's Anipal Photo Hunt post. If you like, you can also enter the Linky code, and have all the participants' links on your post!

Come back throughout the week and visit all the links, have fun looking at all the pics, and make some new friends! Leave comments! Live the dream!

The first anipal to do ALL of the above AND to make that photo his (or her or its) Twitter or Facebook profile pic (& say so in their comment), will win a (small!) prize - at least for the first month.  ; )

So come back Sunday and let's see what happens!  =^..^=

Happy hunting!
Cokie the Cat
